Wanted! IT Help

Thursday 19 September 2019

Hi Beer Lovers, Anybody out there reasonably proficient with IT stuff? We have our AGM coming up next month and Claire is retiring from her post of keeping Whatpub updated. I can send a full job description, but in simple terms it means that when people send in updates of pubs in our branch area, the information on the database needs changing. https://whatpub.com/ We could really use someone to take this on. Claire and others will offer their help to explain the role and there is expert backup from HQ. Contact me for further information and let me know if you are interested. We would also be interested in appointing someone to develop our relationship with pubs and come up with ideas to promote them. This is a new role and would evolve through discussion and trial and error, but initial ideas include an ale trail, and a variety of social events. Adverts over. Our next meeting is our AGM which will be held at the Ferry Lane Social Club in Kings Lynn on Tuesday 8th October at 8.00. (Ferry Lane, King's Lynn, PE30 1HN). Down the alley to the West Lynn Ferry, last door on the left and ring the bell if it is locked. Parking on King Street (free) or Tuesday Market Place, (don’t forget to pay). We would like to see as many members there as possible as we sort out the future direction of the Branch. In November we are at the Gate at Fair Green and December is at the Narborough Social Club. Our Annual Norwich trip is on 14th December and the route is listed in the current issue of Nips. Phil has been in touch to say that the Crossways in Lynn is under new management and selling three pretty good beers at £2.50 a pint during ‘Happy Hour 11-7 Monday to Friday, including ‘Man Down’ from Ringwood. I have heard rumours that Clenchwarton Victory is to change its name after refurbishment is complete. Is anyone able to shed light on this? Several pubs in Thetford are closed and have planning applications lodged for change of use. If you are concerned by this, contacting the planning department and filing objections would be a start and approaching you councillors to establish if there is a policy on pubs might be a good idea. Thanks to everybody who has distributed Nips, especially new volunteers. To get involved, contact Ros at moc.tenretnitb@errah.r.
