Early Start -Planners on top-Cider Surprise

Sunday 10 February 2019

Good Afternoon, Beer Lovers On Tuesday 12th February we meet at the Old Windmill at Great Cressingham (IP25 6NN). As we are selecting the pubs that will feature in the 20209 Good Beer Guide we will start earlier than usual, at 7.30. We will also announce the results of our various Pub of the Year competitions, so if you have any outstanding scores, please let me have them before the meeting if possible. Any observations about potential Beer Guide pubs would be welcome and if you can check and if necessary update information on Whatpub this would be a great help. In March we will meet at the Globe Hotel in Kings Lynn on Tuesday 12th and in April we are at the Railway at Docking on the 16th. Note that this is a week later than normal due to the National AGM which is being held in Dundee on the first weekend in April. In May we will head to Newton by Castle Acre and the George and Dragon. There is also a regional meeting coming up at Lacon’s brewery in Great Yarmouth on Saturday 9th March and possibly a Norfolk County Liaison meeting in Thetford the following Saturday. Contact Andrea for full details of these events. The branch is exploring the possibility of a weekend in Derby in April. More details from me after Tuesdays meeting. The Norwich Winter Ale Festival kicks off for the final time later this month. The festival is open to the public on the 20th - 23rd February 2019 12:00 - 22:30, with an exclusive members-only session on the 19th from 17:30- 22:30. Members can gain free entrance on the door to all sessions, simply bring your valid CAMRA card with you. The deadline for the next issue of Nips is approaching so please forward any copy to Chris as soon as possible.
